Nursery Provision
We are proud to offer a high-quality nursery provision for children aged 3 and above at Michael Faraday Primary School. Our nursery provides a warm, nurturing environment where children can begin their school journey with confidence and curiosity.
We offer both 15 and 30 funded hours (subject to eligibility).
Our part-time offer is structured as:
- Monday and Tuesday (full days) and Wednesday morning, or
- Wednesday from 11:30am (including lunch), plus full days on Thursday and Friday
Parents are welcome to indicate their preferred part-time pattern and we will do our best to accommodate this where possible, although this is subject to availability.
Working parents may be entitled to 30 hours of free childcare - check your eligibility on the Government's website
For families who are not eligible for 30 hours, additional sessions can be purchased to enable full-time attendance. Full-time provision costs £100 per week (£60 for children eligible for free school meals), which includes a healthy and nutritious lunch each day - making it a great opportunity to extend your child’s learning and development. For parents not eligible, additional financial support may also be available through the Childcare Choices website, offering options like Tax-Free Childcare.
Our curriculum is designed to support children’s independence and development across all areas of learning. We provide a rich, play-based environment with free flow access between our indoor and outdoor spaces. We embrace outdoor learning in all weathers - believing that it is not about bad weather, but rather unsuitable clothing!
A strong focus is placed on developing communication and language skills. We encourage children to express themselves, talk about their feelings, and build positive relationships with others.

SEND AND FLEXIBLE ATTENDANCE
The school is committed to inclusive practice in its nursery provision.
In order to meet the individual needs of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), the school may agree to a personalised attendance pattern. This may include reduced hours, phased entry, or flexible session arrangements, including reduced hours when the usual number of hours attendance would be detrimental to the child’s wellbeing.
Such arrangements will be determined on a case-by-case basis, overseen by the Headteacher, in consultation with the SENCo, Early Years Leader, parents/carers, and, where appropriate, external professionals. Decisions will take account of the child’s individual needs, the views of professionals involved and the school’s ability to safely and effectively meet those needs within the early years provision.
Any agreed reduced or flexible attendance will be subject to staffing and operational capacity.
Arrangements will be reviewed at least half-term and may be adjusted as the child’s needs change or if additional funding is secured. The overarching aim is to support the child to access an appropriate early years curriculum, promote wellbeing and engagement, and, where suitable, support a successful transition into full nursery provision over time.
